Forward Messiah Bright made her National Women’s Soccer League debut with the Orlando Pride in 2023 and was a top-25 draft pick overall that year. She was a finalist for the NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2023, and became the first player in NWSL history to earn both Player and Rookie of the Month honors in the same month. A Dallas native, Messiah has since returned to Texas, where she currently plays for the Houston Dash. Between her time in Orlando and in Houston, she spent a season with the Angel City Football Club, where she scored the first hat trick in the club’s history. During her time at Texas Christian University, Messiah scored a school-record 50 goals in 102 games. She has also represented the U.S. internationally, earning call-ups to the U.S. Women’s National Team under-18 squad in 2018 and to the USWNT under-23 squad in 2022.
